Yellow School House

Educate – Engage – Explore

Mission

At The Yellow School House, we empower parents by providing the opportunity to make
meaningful connections, gain knowledge, and obtain community support, so no parent
feels alone, and every child has the chance to thrive.

Offerings

We offer families the opportunity to gather in a safe space. We provide programs
geared toward the needs of families in our community, including child development
classes, postpartum support groups, toddler play groups, art, music and science
activities and parent cooking classes. We help parents connect with trusted
professionals including lactation consultants, developmental specialists, pediatric
dentists, and occupational, physical, and speech therapists.

Impact

Community connections play a vital role in promoting improved mental health,
enhancing parenting skills, building resilience and coping strategies, and fostering
strong family bonds. These connections positively impact children, leading to better
school performance and healthier social-emotional development.

What Moms Say …

“I highly recommend Mom’s Group for new moms! Pam gives great advice, and I met so many friends. I was able to relate to other moms and feel reassured throughout the transition to motherhood. It was also wonderful and adorable to see my baby play with other babies and make his first friends! Mom’s Group is perfect for any mom looking for support and community.” – Christina

“Finding the new mom’s group for me was like finding a life line. After a traumatic birth, suffering from Post partum anxiety and depression, i really needed a safe place to go with other women who were going through the same issues as me and a therapist to lead and support us. It was truly the missing link in my post partum recovery and I looked forward to every time the group met. Thanks to Pam for holding this wonderful space which is much needed in our community!” – Sarah

“Mom group was just what I needed, though I didn’t realize it at first. Mom group was priceless because: 1) I connected with other moms and my daughter engaged with other babies (and Pam!). 2) The standing meeting happened even if other moms had to cancel. 3) I got advice on what to do about my current parenting issue and confirm that I was not alone. My toddler said this just before she graduated: ‘Mom group is my favorite.’ It was my favorite too!” – Ameila
